Today, Rep. Burgess Owens (UT-04) was selected by the House Republican Steering Committee to serve on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in the 118th Congress.
“It is an honor to be the first Utahn selected to serve on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in over 20 years,” said Rep. Owens. “Utah is one of the fastest-growing states in the nation, and we need a strong voice at the table to tackle water management, air quality improvement, the ongoing energy and supply chain crises, and more. I am proud to be a voice for our state on this pivotal committee and will work hard to ensure the strategic growth and responsible management of our Nation’s infrastructure.”

The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee has jurisdiction over all modes of transportation: aviation, maritime and waterborne transportation, highways, bridges, mass transit, and railroads, as well as other aspects of our national infrastructure, such as clean water and waste water management, the transport of resources by pipeline, flood damage reduction, the management of federally owned real estate and public buildings, the development of economically depressed rural and urban areas, disaster preparedness and response, and hazardous materials transportation.
