The Utah Valley University (UVU) College of Humanities and Social Sciences announced that its 2023 Conference on Domestic Violence will be held on April 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on UVU’s Orem Campus. The conference will include keynote and plenary speakers and workshops.
The keynote speaker will be Ludy Green, Ph.D., an international expert on domestic violence and founder of Second Chance Employment Services. The plenary speaker will be Nubia Peña, J.D., an experienced attorney specializing in immigration and domestic violence.
The conference will include sessions titled “The Benefit of Multi-Disciplinary Domestic Violence Representatives Teams,” “My Journey from Surviving to Thriving,” and “Healing After Disclosure.”
“This conference is a crucial opportunity for individuals, organizations, and communities to come together and learn how to combat domestic violence,” said Toni Harris, assistant dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and conference organizer. “We’re thrilled to bring together such an esteemed group of speakers and experts to help raise awareness and promote change.”
The conference is open to the public, and registration is $95. Participants can access the speakers and workshops in person or through online streaming and may earn continuing education units that count toward licensure.
