Salt Lake County launches new Runoff Ready site with flood prep tips

In preparation for the coming weeks of warmer weather and higher spring runoff, Mayor Wilson has launched a new Runoff Ready website, which can be found at SLCo.to/RunoffReady. The information has been available at this site for some time but this week, Salt Lake County moved the content into a new design that makes information easier to access and to translate.

Residents are encouraged to use the site to:

  • Review the floodplain map to learn their risk
  • Get the latest snowpack updates
  • Find sandbag locations AND learn how to fill and stack them
  • Stay up to date on the latest streamflow levels
  • Sign up to volunteer
  • Learn the importance of clearing debris

To get the information translated, residents can click on the person icon in the top right corner and select their language, as demonstrated in the video below:

The county will continue to provide updates on the situation as circumstances warrant and strongly encourages all residents to stay vigilant and take appropriate actions to ensure their safety and the safety of their families.
