Utah Democratic Party adopts 2024 delegate selection plan

The Utah Democratic Party announces the adoption of its 2024 Delegate Selection Plan by the State Central Committee. The Central Committee convened this May to discuss public comments, and subsequently voted to unanimously approve the Plan. We are excited to begin Utah’s 2024 delegate selection process in advance of the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

“Utahns, and all Americans, need another term with a Democrat in the White House, and I’m confident that record-low unemployment, declining inflation, and historic investments in infrastructure will propel our presidential nominee to victory next year,” said Chair Diane Lewis. “Our Delegate Selection Plan ensures that, through outreach and inclusion, a diverse group of delegates representative of the Democratic Party, the State of Utah, and our Utah Democratic communities will make up the Utah Delegation at the 2024 DNC.”

  • Utah will use a proportional representation system based on the results of the Presidential Primary election for apportioning delegates to the 2024 Democratic National Convention.
  • Participation in Utah’s delegate selection process is open to all voters who wish to participate and publicly declare themselves as Democrats.
  • Utah has a total of 34 delegates and 3 alternates.
  • National Convention delegates will be selected at the Utah Democratic State Convention on April 27th, 2024.

The 2024 Utah Delegate Selection Plan for the Democratic National Convention is public and available upon request.
