The Utah Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL) has obtained a license surrender and limitation for a mental health counselor accused of aggravated child abuse. Jodi Hildebrandt, the owner of Connexions Classroom in Utah, was arrested alongside her business partner Ruby Franke on Wednesday, August 30, on charges relating to the abuse of children.
Since her arrest, DOPL, along with the Utah Attorney General’s Office, has been working with Hildebrandt’s lawyer to secure the voluntary surrender of her professional license with limitations, ensuring that she cannot practice if released.
Margaret Busse, Executive Director of the Utah Department of Commerce, stated, “Given the heinous abuse allegations, the agency felt that the surrender of the license was the best course of action to protect the safety of Hildebrandt’s patients and clients. DOPL Director Mark Steinagel expressed appreciation for the Utah Attorney General’s Office for their assistance in this enforcement action and provided a copy of the Stipulation and Order.
