Kennedy Jr High opens new Family Engagement Center during “Evening of Excellence”

Join us for Kennedy Jr. High’s “Evening of Excellence” on Wednesday, November 15th, from 5:30pm – 7:30 P.M, featuring The Grand Opening of the school’s Family Engagement Center.

“Research has shown the direct link between an increase in family engagement and an increase in student achievement. We know that our students benefit academically when their families are engaged in school. We want to work together with families as a team and we know this will help our students tremendously. We want everyone to feel welcome at our school and have designated this space within the school as a place for families,” said Kennedy Jr. High Principal Robin Tenbrink.

The new Family Engagement Center will host a variety of resources for students and their families.

“We want families to have a space they can gather, take classes and learn more about their students’ school. The family center will offer services such as English classes, computer classes and family resources. The family center has a staff member that provides a connection between the school and home,” Tenbrink added.

Families can attend 20 minute information sessions on topics such as:

  • Addressing Mental Health Challenges
  • Guiding Good Choices
