This week, Representative Celeste Maloy (UT-02) became a member of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus (CSC). This bipartisan, bicameral group of lawmakers works to preserve and advance the nation’s rich traditions of hunting, fishing, trapping, and recreational shooting alongside conservation efforts.
“Hunting and fishing is a way of life for many Utahns, and it needs to be protected,” said Rep. Maloy. “I look forward to working with my colleagues on policies that open up our public lands and advance recreational opportunities for sportsmen and women who have fallen in love with Utah’s diverse landscape.”

Protecting hunting and fishing has become a key issue for Utah which is home to a wide range of wildlife, wilderness areas, and national parks. In 2020, Utah passed HJR 15 with 75% of the vote in the general election which amended the state constitution to protect the right to hunt and fish using traditional means and methods.
