Utah House Minority Leader Angela Romero honors the Die Standing Boxing Club

Utah House Minority Leader Angela Romero joined the community on Saturday, March 30th, at the Utah State Capitol to honor the remarkable achievements of the Die Standing Boxing Club, recognizing its significant contributions to Utah’s boxing scene and the broader community. Boxers Jon Bryant, Dillan Nguyen, Chris Dimalanta, and Beaver Ho Ching signed notable four-fight deals with Marvnation, marking a historic milestone in their careers and shining a global spotlight on Utah’s talent. Their commitment to excellence not only enhances Utah’s reputation within the boxing community but also inspires pride and admiration among all Utahns.

Jon Bryant’s exceptional boxing career includes 65 amateur fights, an 8-1 professional record, and multiple titles such as 5-time Golden Glove Champion, 4-time Regional Champion, and Bronze Medalist in the National Golden Gloves. His consistent performances, including reaching the quarter-finals of the Olympic Trials three times, establish him as an icon in Utah’s boxing scene, reflecting the state’s tradition of excellence in the sport.

Dillan Nguyen’s journey from amateur to professional boxing is marked by remarkable achievements, including 52 amateur fights and notable national rankings. His victories, such as clinching the Gene Lewis Champion title and earning the Golden Glove regional championship, showcase his talent and competitive spirit, affirming his unwavering determination and undeniable talent in the sport.

Chris Dimalanta’s accomplishments extend beyond boxing as he showcases endurance and determination as an ultramarathon runner, embodying perseverance and athleticism across different arenas, demonstrating a multifaceted dedication to athletic excellence.

Beaver Ho Ching’s historic signing with Marvnation as Utah’s first heavyweight boxer breaks barriers and paves the way for future generations, expanding the opportunities and reach of boxing in Utah.
