2024 Regional Solutions Event: Aging in Place Coming up on October 2nd!

Salt Lake County is excited to host the “2024 Regional Solutions: Aging in Place” event on October 2nd, 2024, from 9 AM to 4 PM at the Viridian Event Center in West Jordan. 

This important event will bring together national experts, local planners, and community leaders to address the growing challenges of our aging population and explore innovative strategies that support aging in place.

We are proud to partner with key organizations, including Salt Lake County Aging & Adult Services, AARP, Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute, the Utah Chapter of the American Planning Association, and the UofU Healthy Aging and Resilient Places (HARP) Lab. These partnerships are essential in fostering dynamic discussions and driving forward solutions to build resilient, age-friendly communities.

The 2024 Regional Solutions: Aging in Place event will feature leading voices in the field, including Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson as the opening speaker and Danielle Arigoni, author of Climate Resilience for an Aging Nation, as the keynote speaker. The event will also include an academic presentation by Valerie Chang Greer from the School of Architecture and a panel moderated by Paul Leggett, Division Director of Salt Lake County Aging and Adult Services, featuring Alan Ormsby of AARP Utah and Clearfield City Mayor Mark Shepherd. 

Additional insights will come from Dejan Eskic of the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute, Mallory Bateman, Director of Demographic Research, and Tim Sullivan, Principal at Township and Range.
