The upcoming Utah AI Summit is poised to significantly advance artificial intelligence (AI) in Utah. Scheduled for October 30, 2024, at the Salt Lake Community College Miller Campus, Karen Gail Miller Conference Center, this event aims to catalyze the state’s leadership in AI through collaboration, innovation, and policy development.
The Utah AI Summit, more than just a conference, represents a movement towards integrating AI into the fabric of Utah’s future. It brings together policymakers, industry leaders, educators, and the technology community to shape the direction of AI development and implementation in the state and beyond.
Governor Spencer J. Cox will deliver the keynote address, emphasizing Utah’s commitment to leading in AI. His insights on the state’s direction in workforce development, industry innovation, university research, and policy will be a cornerstone for the day’s discussions.

A special presentation on AI Policy and Regulatory Innovation will feature insights from Margaret Woolley Busse, Executive Director at the Utah Department of Commerce, Zach Boyd, Director of the Utah Office of AI Policy, Representative Jeff Moss, and Senator Kirk Cullimore, discussing regulatory frameworks and the future of AI in mental health and other sectors.
Hackathon Sprint Groups:
Attendees can participate in “Hackathon” sprint groups, which offer a unique platform for engaging in hands-on sessions focused on developing actionable policy solutions that ensure responsible innovation. Participants will collaborate with fellow visionaries in one of three critical areas: the future of the workforce, education, or healthcare.
