The Landlord and Community Partners Coalition (LCPC) will officially launch on May 8, with a press conference from 11:00 AM–12:30 PM at Bud Bailey Apartments (3970 South Main Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84107).
This kickoff event invites the press, landlords, community-based organizations, and case managers to come together in support of a shared mission: preventing evictions, increasing housing stock for low income individuals, bridging communication gaps, and stabilizing housing across Utah.
The LCPC is a groundbreaking effort to connect landlords, property managers, service providers, and housing authorities in a unified coalition. Prompted by findings from the Utah Housing Coalition’s research report, “Unlocking Housing Relationships,” this initiative was developed to address the urgent 23% failure rate in Utah’s HUD Section 8 voucher placements.
The LCPC fosters collaboration among landlords, tenants, and community organizations to bridge communication gaps, build trust, and address systemic housing barriers. Through statewide education, mediation services, and a centralized digital hub, the coalition plans to equip stakeholders with tools to support equitable and stable housing.
Tailored services and multilingual resources empower communities while reducing evictions and promoting tenant success. By advancing policy, offering landlord incentives, and driving innovation, LCPC aims to create lasting, statewide housing solutions for vulnerable populations.
This collective approach ensures that no stakeholder is left behind in the effort to build stronger, more resilient housing ecosystems.
The May 8 launch will feature guest speakers from across Utah’s housing landscape and a media Q&A session focused on the coalition’s long-term goals. The LCPC aims to build a truly statewide network—serving both rural and urban communities with customized support. That is why we are encouraging interested housing leaders to join this coalition today!
“We’re inviting housing stakeholders to join this collaborative effort and shape solutions that work for everyone,” Project Manager, Zoe Newmann said. “We know we have a lot of work ahead of us and we are excited to hit the ground running this May.”
