Utah Valley University (UVU) announced the appointments of Josh Cook as associate vice president of University Marketing and Ellen Treanor as associate vice president of Strategic & Communications Management. The appointments are effective immediately.
Cook most recently worked for the LA Clippers, where he oversaw record-setting social media growth and helped launch the $2 billion Intuit Dome arena through integrated marketing. Prior to that, he worked for the Utah Jazz.
Cook has more than 20 years of experience in digital growth, brand campaigns, and content innovation across the sports, entertainment, and esports industries. His leadership roles at FOX Sports, Blizzard Entertainment, and Immortals LLC have honed his fan engagement, revenue conversion, and content strategy expertise.
Treanor is a communication professional with 25 years of experience across Fortune 10 companies, nonprofits, higher education, and public relations. Prior to UVU, she served as associate vice president and chief communication officer at California State University, Fullerton, where she led award-winning teams responsible for marketing, national media coverage, market research, government advocacy, and crisis communication.
Under her leadership, the university’s “It Takes a Titan” campaign raised $270 million for student success initiatives. She is recognized for her strategic insight into organizational communication, brand development, reputation management, and creative strategy. Treanor recently earned a certificate in artificial intelligence (AI) prompt engineering to enhance her innovative approach to communications.
