Dignity Index to host inaugural leadership summit

In an effort to heal the divisions at the root of so many of our nation’s problems, the non-partisan group that created The Dignity Index, a tool for measuring how we treat each other when we disagree, is hosting its first-ever summit: “Building a Culture of Dignity.”

The full-day event will be held Monday, October 20th, at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center, featuring a welcome from Dr. Tim Shriver, co-creator of the Dignity Index, and a keynote address from Dr. Donna Hicks, an international conflict resolution specialist, an associate at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University, and author of Leading with Dignity. It will also include main stage presentations about how to use the Dignity Index to build more positive cultures on college campuses and in the media. Sessions are scheduled to include training on how to score speech using the Index, with breakouts focusing on the workplace, politics, higher education, K-12 education and community groups.

“We’re building a new culture based on honoring each person’s dignity, each person’s inherent worth,” Dr. Shriver said. “The summit is a unique opportunity to connect as a community and accelerate the work of honoring each other’s dignity, easing divisions, preventing violence, and solving problems.”

An informal networking reception will be held on Sunday, October 19th, at 5 pm., also at the Hilton. Learn more at www.dignity.us/summit or email [email protected]
