National security takes center stage at Zero Gravity Summit

The 2025 Zero Gravity Summit officially opens today at the Salt Palace Convention Center, bringing together nearly 3,000 leaders in national security, aerospace, energy, technology, venture capital, academia and government. Hosted by 47G | Utah Aerospace & Defense, the Summit has quickly become one of the nation’s most influential gatherings for advancing innovation that protects America’s security, energy independence and global leadership.

This year’s Summit features nearly 100 cutting-edge exhibits and a powerhouse lineup of speakers, including Jen Easterly, former Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and Ambassador Nikki Haley, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Additional speakers include senior U.S. Department of Defense officials, global energy executives, AAM pioneers, space innovators and national security strategists.

Additional speakers include Spencer Cox, Governor of the State of Utah; Brad Wilson, CEO of the Salt Lake City–Utah 2034 Olympic and Paralympic Games; and Dmytro Kushneruk, Consul General of Ukraine. They will be joined by senior officials from the U.S. Department of Defense, global energy executives, space innovators and national security strategists—all contributing to conversations that are shaping the future of America’s defense and innovation landscape.

“As America’s ‘Deep Tech Frontier,’ we are leading the charge in advancing transformative technologies that are making Utahns’ lives better everyday,” said Aaron Starks, President and CEO of 47G. “This is where the nation’s brightest minds come together to tackle big challenges, exchange bold ideas and celebrate the breakthroughs driving America’s next era of innovation and security.”

The 2025 Summit will explore four interconnected tracks essential to preserving U.S. leadership and independence in an increasingly contested global landscape: Defense Tech, the Future of Flight, the New Space Economy and Energy Production & Grid Security.

In Defense Tech, speakers will examine how AI-enabled systems, battlefield autonomy and advanced hardware are reshaping modern warfare. The Future of Flight will highlight Project Alta and Utah’s emerging role as a national testbed for advanced air mobility, building toward the 2034 Olympic Winter Games. The New Space Economy will focus on dual-use technologies, Utah’s growing space infrastructure, and how commercial space capabilities support national security. Finally, Energy Production & Grid Security will showcase initiatives like Operation Gigawatt, modular nuclear reactors and advanced tactical energy systems designed to modernize the grid, enhance resilience and address rising demands across civilian and defense sectors.

This year’s expo floor features immersive, live demonstrations and technology showcases that bring innovation to life. Attendees can witness Fortem Technologies’ DroneHunter F700, the world’s leading autonomous counter-drone interceptor; ElectraFly’s hybrid air vehicle, pioneering personal and military flight innovation; Hypercraft’s electric military vehicle by BC Customs, a next-generation tactical EV built for power and precision; Torus’ flywheel energy storage system, revolutionizing how power is captured and deployed; and Vector’s Hammer, a a multi-use quadcopter that can support troops in the field by gathering detailed information and carrying out precise, long-range missions.

Building on the sold-out success of its debut last year, the 2025 Zero Gravity Summit comes at a pivotal time as geopolitical tensions, energy security and technological competition define America’s future. Utah’s rapidly growing aerospace and defense ecosystem, backed by $6.1 billion in annual U.S. Department of Defense contracts, provides the perfect backdrop for advancing the technologies that matter most to America’s security and economic resilience.
