The Salt Lake Chamber is hosting the 49th annual Women & Business Conference and ATHENA Awards Luncheon. During the luncheon, the Salt Lake Chamber will present the ATHENA Leadership Award to Ally Isom, Chief Marketing and External Affairs Officer, Clyde Companies, Inc. The award recognizes an active member of the Chamber who demonstrates creativity and initiative in business, provides valuable service by devoting time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community and assists women in reaching their full leadership potential.
In addition, five business and community leaders will receive the Pathfinder Award for their work to create new paths and promote the development and recognition of women in business. This year’s recipients include Melanie Bowen, Community Relations Director of the Orrin G. Hatch Foundation; Jenny Groberg, CEO and Founder of BookSmarts Accounting and Bookkeeping; Lauren Gustus, CEO and Executive Editor of The Salt Lake Tribune; Sara Jones, CEO of InclusionPro; and Monnica Manuel, President and Co-Founder of RSG Performance.
The opening keynote will be given by Holly Rowe, three-time Emmy Award-winning sports broadcaster, cancer survivor and ESPN Hall of Fame Sports Commentator, who will share how her five-year battle with Stage IV metastatic melanoma taught her to bring light, awareness and joy to others.
The closing keynote will be given by Olympic medalist Shannon Bahkre, who will share the powerful mindset, habits and strategies that helped her win America’s first medal of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. She will highlight how these tools are just as effective in everyday life and business as they are in elite sport.
