Gov. Cox declares February 2026 Tech Month in Utah

The governor’s office today declared February 2026 as Tech Month in Utah during the morning session of Summit, where GOEO Executive Director Jefferson Moss offered remarks and made the announcement.

Utah’s technology industry is a cornerstone of the state’s economic prosperity, contributing more than $25 billion to the economy while growing 12 percent over the past five years.

“I’ve had the opportunity to spend time with several different groups, and as I talk to them, the thing that resonates most is that we’re all a part of building Utah,” said GOEO Executive Director Jefferson Moss as he announced Tech Month at Summit. “We’re going to focus on how we can build together.”

Utah is committed to a pro-human approach to innovation and fostering a connected tech economy where new companies can emerge and thrive. As a leading destination for these companies, the Governor and GOEO, in collaboration with industry partners, events such as Fintech XChangeSummit, and Tech Week, and tech founders and businesses, are committed to:

  • Aligning and strengthening the tech ecosystem broadly.
  • Expanding access to mentorship and building confidence and opportunity.
  • Activating and utilizing the state’s university system to drive talent development and innovation.
  • Welcoming global capital and talent to Utah.

Throughout the month, Utah industry leaders, educators, and public partners will actively coordinate efforts and collaborate on the future of tech in Utah.
