Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County Public Opinions on Arts and Culture in Downtown Salt Lake City

As part of the ongoing Cultural Core process between Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County, residents are invited to participate in a brief survey to help determine priorities for the initiative.

The Cultural Core is an agreement between the city and county to provide resources for projects that increase audience participation, and market the variety of arts and culture venues and program in the downtown area. The interlocal agreement was established in 2010, with funding provided by both the city and county. Development of a Cultural Core Action Plan is currently underway, and expected to be completed this fall. Survey responses will inform the plan.

The Cultural Core came about as part of an inter-local agreement entered into by the city and county in 2010 to dedicate a new revenue source “to provide resources for projects that increase and market the activity, audience participation at venues and programs in the downtown Cultural Core,” for a 20-year period.
