Governing Group candidates win 47 races across Utah in 2025 municipal elections

Governing Group PAC announced today that its endorsed candidates won 46 municipal races across Utah in the 2025 election cycle. The victories include 14 mayors, 21 city and town council members, and 12 school board members who reflect the organization’s commitment to civility, collaboration, and community-first leadership.

“This cycle proved that Utah voters continue to value leaders who listen and lead with purpose,” said Becky Edwards, founder of Governing Group and former Utah legislator. “We are not focused on dictating policy positions, our mission is to support leaders who put their communities above partisanship.”

Governing Group-endorsed candidates earned key wins in several of Utah’s fastest-growing municipalities, including Draper, Riverton, Herriman, Bluffdale, and Saratoga Springs, where thoughtful local leadership is vital to managing growth and maintaining quality of life.

Among the 14 mayors elected with Governing Group’s support are Karen McCandless (Orem), Kate Bradshaw (Bountiful), Dawn Ramsey (South Jordan), Lorin Palmer (Herriman), Troy Walker (Draper), Natalie Hall (Bluffdale), Chris Carn (Saratoga Springs), Karen Lang (West Valley City), and Mark Anderson (Logan), along with several others across the state.

“I’m honored to be part of a group of leaders who are focused on service and solutions,” said Orem Mayor Karen McCandless. “Governing Group’s support helped us keep our campaigns rooted in listening to residents and solving problems together.”

In addition to mayoral wins, Governing Group candidates secured 21 city and town council seats and 12 school board positions across West, South, and Central school districts following the recent split of Alpine School District, strengthening local governance in some of Utah’s most dynamic and fast-growing communities.
