Last month, SVS (formerly known as South Valley Services) proudly expanded its services to Carbon and Emery Counties, marking a significant milestone in its mission to support survivors and families across a broader region. With this expansion, we now serve a much larger geographic area than South Valley and Tooele, making it clear that our organization’s name no longer fully reflects the scope of our work or the communities we serve.
As a result, South Valley Services has officially transitioned to using the acronym, SVS, as the primary organizational name. This change reflects their growth into a regional organization and our commitment to increasing access to services, safety, and support for survivors and families across multiple counties.
In addition to the name transition, SVS will now operate using site-based location names to reflect its presence in each community it serves. This structure enables SVS to honor local identity, strengthen community connections, and make services more accessible for survivors, partners, and referral sources. In addition to these updates, SVS is transitioning the West Jordan Community Resource Center’s name to South Valley Advocacy Center to align with the Tooele location and better represent services offered to the community.
Each community will have a site name that reflects its location while remaining part of the larger SVS organization, creating a unified regional network of support with strong local roots.
SVS Service Sites:
- Salt Lake County – South Valley Sanctuary & South Valley Advocacy CenterÂ
- Tooele County – Pathways Sanctuary & Pathways Advocacy Center Â
- Carbon & Emery Counties – Colleen’s SanctuaryÂ
Over the coming months, community members, partners, and supporters will see updates across all official communications. While our name and structure are evolving, our mission, services, staff, and commitment to survivors remain the same. This growth would not have been possible without the support of our community partners, donors, volunteers, local leaders, and media partners who believed in the vision of expanding access to safety and support. We are deeply grateful for the collaboration, trust, and community investment that made this expansion into Carbon and Emery Counties possible.
As SVS, we move forward with a strengthened regional presence and a local community focus, creating pathways to safety, stability, and healing for survivors and families across every county we serve.
