Gov. Herbert Orders Flags Lowered for France Victims

Gov. Gary R. Herbert has authorized the lowering of the flag of the United States of America and the flag of the state of Utah to honor the victims of the terrorist attack in Nice, France.

Gov. Herbert issued the following statement:

“We lower flags today in a symbol of collective mourning that is becoming far too common in our country and world. Jeanette and I extend our deepest condolences to those impacted by the terrible tragedy in France. As Utahns, we join with others in prayer for the families and friends of those affected by this despicable terrorist attack.”

The flags will be flown at half-staff beginning immediately, Friday, July 15, 2016 until sunset on Tuesday, July 19, 2016.
