Podcast: Bernick and Schott on Politics – Episode #293

Bernick and Schott on PoliticsBob Bernick and Bryan Schott discuss the week in Utah politics.

Well, the Democrats are having a much better week than the Republicans did.

The Democratic National Convention is going much better than the Republican Convention last week – mostly. Bernie Sanders supporters continued their temper tantrum over his losing the nomination.

The rest of the week has been focused on carpet bombing Donald Trump with President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and countless other speakers laying into the Republican nominee.

Donald Trump invites Russia to commit an act of cyberwarfare against the United States. Bob and Bryan say it’s just the latest incident of Trump speaking before he thinks.

Sen. Mike Lee holds a field hearing in Blanding about a possible Bears Ears national monument. Bryan and Bob say it’s pretty much a done deal that President Obama will protect the area by declaring it a monument, but it may not have much political blowback in Utah.

Plus, Bryan explains why Democratic delegates who say they may vote for Green Party nominee Jill Stein are completely ridiculous.

Also, Bob makes a shameless plea for Google Fiber to please come to his neighborhood.
