Most Americans Favor Upping the Minimum Wage

Most Americans would get behind a plan to hike the minimum wage to $9 per hour.

The new Gallup survey shows 76% would vote in favor raising the minimum wage if it were on the ballot. That’s an increase from March of this year.

The federal minimum wage is not adjusted for inflation. 69% of voters would favor a plan that would increase the minimum wage in relation to inflation.

Breaking the numbers down by party finds that Republicans are the least in favor of hiking the minimum wage (58%) while 76% of independents and 91% of Democrats would favor such a move.
