Salt Lake City Announces Final Schedule for Phase 2 of 1300 South Reconstruction Project

Salt Lake City, in coordination with the Utah Department of Transportation, is reconstructing 1300 South between 400 West and 500 West. This work includes the intersections with side streets and I-15 on- and off-ramps.

Beginning Tuesday, September 6, a partial closure of 1300 South will take place during the concrete pavement construction, which will last approximately eight weeks. During this time, one lane of traffic will be open in each direction between 300 West and 700 West. NO LEFT TURNS will be allowed for semi-truck traffic in the construction zone.

The project team revised the previously scheduled three-week full closure following meetings with residents, businesses and city officials. The modified schedule extends construction time and keeps lanes open during construction.

To avoid congestion during construction, drivers are encouraged to use alternate on- and off-ramps including 2100 South, 1700 South, and 900 South, and utilize 300 West, 700 West, and 900 West for local traffic when possible.
