Outdoor Industry Association and OIAPAC are proud to endorse Doug Owens in his campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives from Utah’s 4thCongressional District.
OIA is the national trade association for suppliers, manufacturers and retailers in the $646 billion outdoor recreation industry with more than 1,300 member companies, large and small. The outdoor industry supports more than 6.1 million American jobs, provides $80 million every year in federal and state tax revenue and makes other significant contributions toward the goal of healthy communities and healthy economies across the United States.
In Utah, the outdoor recreation economy accounts for $12 billion in consumer spending, 122.000 jobs, $3.6 billion in wages and salaries, and $856 million in state and local tax revenue.
Owens is the first challenger to an incumbent member of Congress that OIA has ever endorsed. This unprecedented action reflects the importance of Utah’s recreation economy and our hope that a true champion of the outdoor recreation industry will represent the people of the 4th Congressional District in Congress.
