Bernick and Schott on Politics 01Donald Trump has a 15-point lead in Utah, but most Utah Republicans are considering voting for a third-party candidate.

The state school board elections are supposedly non-partisan but don’t tell GOP legislative leaders that. They’re launching a last-ditch effort to save some school board incumbents after Utah Education Association candidates did surprisingly well in the primaries.

Speaking of the UEA, they endorse Gov. Gary Herbert over Democrat Mike Weinholtz, which is part of a growing trend of Utah unions becoming more pragmatic and supporting Republican candidates.

Mia Love launches an attack ad against Doug Owens. That seems curious given her 13-point lead in the 4th Congressional District race.
