U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker will join a town hall discussion with Adobe employees and World Trade Center Utah members during a visit to Adobe’s office in Lehi, Utah on Thursday, November 10.
Secretary Pritzker will field questions on topics that are top of mind for Adobe employees ranging from ways to bring more women into corporate leadership roles based on her 27 years of private sector experience and as Secretary of Commerce to privacy and data policies impacting global cloud strategies.
Secretary Pritzker will also discuss the benefits of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and cross-border data flows for Utah businesses of all sizes. Economic benefits of TPP include the elimination of more than 18,000 tariffs and discriminatory trade barriers facing U.S. businesses in the Asia-Pacific region. With more than a quarter of all Utah goods being exported to TPP countries every year, the trade agreement is critical to Utah’s economy. The state exported more than $3.7 billion in goods to TPP countries in 2015, including $547 million in goods to Japan, $98 million to Malaysia, and $29 million to Vietnam.
