Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman says he’s flattered to be mentioned as a possible pick for Secretary of State in a Donald Trump administration, but he’s not sure if anything will come of it.
Huntsman, a guest on Fox Business Channel, said the fact that Trump is taking so long to settle on an important post in his Cabinet is a sure sign Trump is serious about foreign policy.
“You know, I’m greatly honored that my name is even in a mix, an expanded, large group of people. I have not had the meeting, but I think it’s really important and it says something about the President-elect that he’s taking this job very seriously, he’s reviewing the candidates, he’s looking at the issues, he’s bringing in different voices who maybe look, see differently America’s role in the world and that’s a good thing,” he said.
Huntsman says he hasn’t had any contact with Trump’s transition team as of yet, but that could happen soon.
