One thing that did not make it into the budget proposal was a tax hike for public schools. A group called “Our Schools Now” wants to put that hike before voters to boost funding for public schools. The governor and Utah lawmakers don’t like the proposed tax, saying they want to address tax exemptions to find money first.

Amazon is going to start collecting sales taxes for online purchases from Utah, which shows that it’s possible to collect sales tax for online purchases.

Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman are seemingly in the mix to be Secretary of State for Donald Trump. How serious are those rumblings?
