Wilford Clyde Named Vice Chair of the Salt Lake Chamber Board of Governors

The Salt Lake Chamber has named Wilford Clyde, president of Clyde Companies, as the vice chair of its Board of Governors. He will serve alongside current chair, Keith McMullin, the current president and CEO of Deseret Management, Inc.

“We are fortunate to have Wilford step forward in this position for our organization. His successful career inspires great confidence in the direction he will provide the Chamber,” said Lane Beattie, president and CEO of the Salt Lake Chamber. “I’ve known Wilford for a very long time. He has dedicated himself to his profession, community and family. His insight will elevate the Chamber.”

A successful businessman, Clyde began his career in the construction business, working for Geneva Rock. He became president of that organization before moving to lead its parent company, Clyde Companies, Inc., which also oversees Sunroc Building Materials, Sunroc Corporation, Beehive Insurance and W.W. Clyde & Co.

“I’ve been a part of the Salt Lake Chamber for a long time. This organization’s work on critical business-related policy issues is a major reason that companies like Forbes and CNBC call our state the best for business,” said Clyde. “Through my capacity with the Board of Governors, I plan to encourage and continue this growth. The Chamber helps the state to succeed, enables businesses to achieve success, and most importantly, puts people first. I’m excited.”

Keith McMullin, who will continue in his role as chair of the Chamber’s Board of Governors, shared his thoughts on Clyde’s appointment. “He is not only a dedicated businessman, he is also a public servant. He currently serves as Springville City’s mayor and has lent his talents as a member of the Utah State Board of Regents, which oversees all higher education in the state. He will be an asset to the Chamber’s leadership.”
