Former Federal Reserve Economic Advisor and Chair of the Dept. of Economics for UCSB to Address Utah Business Leaders

Bank of Utah is hosting its seventh Annual Economic Outlook Events for bank customers and business leaders, Jan. 24-25, in Salt Lake City, Logan, and Lehi.

Nationally-published economist, Peter Rupert, will give a snapshot of the 2017 economy, at the free breakfast and lunch events. (Pre-registration is required.) Rupert is currently chair of the Department of Economics at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

“We are excited to bring in our good friend Peter Rupert to talk about Utah’s and the nation’s economy,” said Bank of Utah President Douglas L. DeFries. “Peter specializes in family, labor and macroeconomics and people may know him from his blog contributions on the Cooley-Rupert Economic Snapshot.”

Bank of Utah’s Economic Outlook breakfasts will be held Jan. 24, at the Thanksgiving Point Golf Course in Lehi, at 3300 Club House Drive, and in Logan on Jan. 25 at USU’s Maverik Stadium, 1000 North 800 East. Registration and a breakfast buffet begin at 7:30 a.m. at both events, with the keynote speaker beginning at 8 am.

A lunch event will be held on Jan. 24, at noon at Vivint Smart Home Arena, 301 S. Temple, Salt Lake City.

Rupert spent 12 years as senior economic advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, and he is now executive director of the UCSB Economic Forecast Project and associate director, of Laboratory for Aggregate Economics and Finance. Rupert has held appointments at several universities across the nation and in London.
