Sen. Orrin Hatch, who is angling for an 8th term in Washington, says he would step aside if an “outstanding person” were to run for his position.
Hatch told National Journal he would consider not running for another term if someone like former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney were to run for his seat.
Hatch first won election to the U.S. Senate in 1976. He recently told CNN he was strongly considering running for an 8th term.
