Miller statement on executive order enforcing trade rules

World Trade Center Utah President and CEO Derek B. Miller released the following statement about President Trump’s executive order to enforce trade rules:

“The executive order signed today by President Trump to bolster U.S. agencies’ authority to combat foreign dumping will help ensure that Utah businesses can count on free trade being fair trade.  Rules of the game are important, but they are only effective when enforced,” said Derek B. Miller, president and CEO of World Trade Center Utah. “The purpose of trade agreements is undermined and fair trade is compromised when the federal government turns a blind eye to rule breaking by foreign countries and foreign companies. This executive order will help restore the true intent of trade agreements, which is to provide rule-based commerce that offers stability and predictability for Utah companies engaged in international business.”
