Sutherland Institute welcomes new vice president

Sutherland Institute is pleased to announce the hiring of Rick Larsen, who will be joining the team as vice president with an emphasis on development and thought leadership.

“Rick is a high-impact executive who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position,” said Boyd Matheson, president of Sutherland Institute. “He will play a vital role in our efforts to strengthen Sutherland’s standing in Utah while expanding our national reach and impact. Rick’s ability to drive development, convene high-level thought leaders and execute transformational events will ensure Sutherland’s principles and public policies continue to be a force for good in Utah and across the nation.”

Larsen said he is excited by the challenge of furthering the Institute’s vision and mission.

“It is an honor to join the talented team at Sutherland Institute,” Larsen said. “We are a nation looking for answers. Under Boyd’s leadership, Sutherland Institute is one of the few voices declaring that the solutions to the challenges facing society today will not be solved in Washington but within our own homes, neighborhoods and communities. I am excited to be part of the kind of next-generation think tank Sutherland has created and hope to add momentum to the positive, conservative movement they are driving.”

Matheson concluded, “We welcome Rick to Team Sutherland and look forward to his contribution to our vision of a new birth of freedom for America through empowering principles, effective public policy and elevated dialogue.”

Larsen will start in July.
