Last week Donald Trump Jr. admitted he met with a Russian lawyer with ties to the Kremlin who was offering to pass on damaging information about Hillary Clinton to the Trump campaign.
Trump Jr. says the meeting was a bust as the lawyer failed to deliver the goods. Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and then-campaign manager Paul Manafort also were in attendance.
The meeting is just the latest in a string of possible connections between the Trump campaign and Russia. While no concrete evidence of collusion between the two entities exists, there is plenty of speculation. Our “Political Insiders” say that it’s at least possible that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians during last year’s presidential campaign.
55% of the Republicans on our panel says it’s possible that that the Trump campaign conspired with the Russians.
Big surprise here. 95% of the Democrats who responded think it’s possible Trump’s campaign worked with the Russians during the election.
89% of our readers say it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Trump’s campaign somehow collaborated with the Russians during the presidential campaign.
A recent UtahPolicy.com survey found only 34% of Utahns think there was more than just incidental contact between the Trump campaign and Russian officials during the 2016 election. However, that survey was conducted before the most current controversy.

Donald Trump Jr. may have committed some light treason.
It requires epic levels of myopia to wade into the ocean of Trump-Russia evidence and conclude that there is no danger of drowning.
Hey, Democrats, the 1980’s called, they want their boogeyman back.
Can’t believe there remains any question at this point. I used to think I knew what a ‘smoking gun’ was, but apparently, I’m wrong about that.
The Donald Trump Jr. emails are some pretty convincing concrete evidence. We cannot say there is no concrete evidence.
Of course, his campaign colluded with the Russians. Did it impact the election? We will never know. However, coordinating and cooperating with the enemy is not something any American should stand for.
I think there was collusion, but it doesn’t really matter. Nothing will happen unless Trump himself decides to step down because he hates the job. We are stuck with him!
Wait… Campaigns try to win by finding out information about the other candidate? Who knew?!
We would know by now. This is all smoke and no fire…
A lot of smoke from all directions. Hard not to envision some type of collusion. They are a sleazy bunch not to be trusted.
What do you mean by collusion? Collusion to do what? Does acquisition of factual information that incriminates someone constitute collusion. Would that be collusion to obtain truthful information?
These people are too stupid to knowingly commit treason.
Paul Manafort running the Trump campaign during the convention and Trump’s comments about killing terrorist families like Putin left many worried he was a Putin wannabe. Trump is the POTUS, so we all want him to be a good President. He is hard to watch.
If someone was offering you inside info and potentially damaging info on your opponent, I guarantee there isn’t one person that wouldn’t look into it. Especially with all the controversy surrounding the Clinton Foundation and foreign governments. This is hardly collusion.
What a waste of time. Think of what we could have done with Benghazi with this kind of scrutinity.
The only question now is how many other people are involved.
I hope not, but anything is possible. I am not justifying anyone’s behavior, but I don’t think this is not the first time a foreign government has taken a “special” interest in the outcome of a presidential election. Actual interference is another question altogether. Present morality/immorality aside, it seems that the opposition party following any presidential election seems to take way too much time trying to smear the elected president. If there is actual wrongdoing, fine. But I feel there is a lot wasted effort “tilting at windmills” when we need to use this energy doing the actual business of government… serving the people of this nation.
I heard once that they serve Russian dressing at the Trump Tower salad bar, that’s all the proof needed for some people.
No crime was committed. No charges have been filed.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind. Those who say no are extreme partisans who are hiding their heads in the sand!
You either have to be blindly partisan or willfully ignorant to not see any other conclusion.
Whether I think he did is a different question, to which I would answer that this new information certainly implies that his campaign tried to collude, if not Trump himself. We’ll see how it goes, but it certainly doesn’t look good.
Every week something more is revealed and still not one elected Republican official is willing to stand up for our Democracy. Chilling and demoralizing. We see their cowardice.
I think the smoking gun is now literally on fire.
I don’t care for Trump, but there is not sufficient evidence at this point to jump to any conclusions. Because Trump always plays by his own rules, and not anyone else’s, there’s no denying the potential for collusion. But let’s wait (endure) and see if any solid evidence emerges.
