Rep. Chris Stewart sent, then quickly deleted a tweet from his congressional account mocking liberals for their reaction to President Trump’s speech at the United Nations.
The Tweet, which was archived by ProPublica’s Politwoops, said:
“Laughing. Liberals going nuts after prez UN speech. His idea = defend freedom. Their respond = drink 18 glasses of water and wet pants.”
During his speech at the United Nations, President Trump mocked North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, calling him “Rocket man” and threatened to “totally destroy” North Korea if they continued developing their nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs.
It’s not clear whether Rep. Stewart himself controls his Twitter account or if his social media accounts are handled by a staffer in his office.
Rep. Stewart’s office did not respond to a request for comment.
