Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT), the President Pro Tempore of the United States Senate, issued the following statement after Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ) announced on the Senate floor that he will not seek re-election in 2018.
“Without reservation, I can say that Senator Flake is among the most honorable men in politics today,” Hatch said. “Jeff embodies the conscience, courage, and conviction of a true conservative. I know I speak for all of my colleagues in the Senate when I say we will miss him dearly.”
