Salt Lake Chamber hosts 131st Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon

Utah’s business leaders gathered on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at the Little America Hotel for the Salt Lake Chamber’s 131st Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon.

The theme of the event was “Swinging for the Fences.” During the event, more than 500 Chamber members gathered to honor those in the community that have showed exemplary support by committing their time and abilities to help further the Chamber’s mission and bolster the business community.

Speakers for the event included Derek B. Miller, president and CEO of the Salt Lake Chamber and Downtown Alliance; Steve Starks, incoming chair of the Salt Lake Chamber Board of Governors and president of the Utah Jazz and Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment; Wilford Clyde, outgoing chair of the Salt Lake Chamber Board of Governors and chairman and CEO at Clyde Companies; and Rod Zundel of KSL-TV.

“When we engage and get our employees involved with the Salt Lake Chamber, we send the message that not only do we believe in them, but also believe in the good work the Chamber is doing. Get involved, get engaged, you won’t regret it,” said Clyde.

Now in its 131st year, the Salt Lake Chamber owes much of its success to the businessmen and women of Utah who donate their time and talent for the betterment of the entire Beehive State.

“This year we have accomplished a lot together and we could not have done it without our outstanding chamber members, volunteers and supporters. This year’s honorees really stepped up and helped to make a difference in our local community.
