Gov. Herbert lowers flags in honor of victims of Thousand Oaks shooting

In coordination with President Donald J. Trump’s proclamation, Gov. Gary R. Herbert has ordered the lowering of the flag of the United States of America and the flag of the State of Utah out of respect for the victims of the shooting in Thousand Oaks, California.

Flags should be lowered immediately and remain lowered until sunset on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018.

“I am devastated that we have had yet another mass shooting in our country. My heart aches for the many families who lost loved ones, and for the many lives cut brutally short by this senseless and cruel act of violence. We stand together with these families and with our California neighbors in mourning.”

Individuals and businesses are encouraged to fly the flag at half-staff for the same length of time.
