Anthony Atamanuik, host of The President Show on Comedy Central, produced perhaps the best impersonation of President Donald Trump since he entered the political arena. His biting satire shined a light on the absurdity of having a reality TV star as leader of the free world, as well as our tribal politics and sensational media culture.
Atamanuik is the author of a new book, American Tantrum: The Donald J. Trump Presidential Archives, which satirizes Trump’s White House, his business career, and the Republicans who reluctantly voted for him in 2016.
Atamanuik joins Managing Editor Bryan Schott to discuss his book, how he develops empathy for Trump despite the fact he’s such a polarizing figure, and our toxic media culture.
