McKell says Utah cities should not be allowed to ban plastics because they’re anti-business

Rep. Mike McKell, R-Spanish Fork, says he’s proposing a ban on plastics bans because “enough is enough” with anti-business regulations.

McKell was a guest on Fox News Wednesday morning where he said cities like Park City and Moab banning plastics is too much government intrusion into our everyday lives.

“We don’t need government telling us what to do and how to live,” said McKell. “Let’s let companies thrive. We hit them hard enough with all the taxes and policies we create.”

McKell argued customers should have the choice as to whether they want to be environmentally conscious in their purchasing.

“Look at Trader Joes. They use a renewable bag. If a company decides they want to use renewable bags, that’s their option. If a customer wants to make that decision, then let them.”
