Rep. Chris Stewart said on CNN Saturday morning that he was “relieved” that special counsel Robert Mueller has finished his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
“I don’t think we’ll be terribly surprised by anything in that report,” said Stewart. “I’m relieved for the president and for the dozens of people who have had this cloud hanging over their head for two years now.”
Stewart has long called for the public release of Mueller’s report, claiming it won’t show any evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
“He (Mueller) has acted responsibly, but there were dozens and dozens of politicians and other people in media that made very serious accusations against the president and his family.”
