Representatives from Valley Behavioral Health gathered Wednesday at Valley Storefront to collect over 1,000 pounds of comforters, pillows, and towels donated to the organization by Hilton Salt Lake City Center.
Valley Behavioral Health is a nonprofit network of clinics providing treatment for behavioral issues, addictions, psychiatric conditions, autism and other chronic health conditions. The Hilton’s donation will be divided among the organization’s independent living, residential treatment programs, and homeless programs. These programs serve an average of 1,200 people a year.
“We are incredibly thankful for this partnership with Hilton Salt Lake City Center,” said Gary Larcenaire, CEO and President of Valley Behavioral Health. “Valley’s Homeless Programs serve individuals ages 18 and older who are homeless and have a severe mental illness, and these clients will greatly benefit from new blankets and towels.”
“Hilton Salt Lake City Center is pleased to be able to donate bed linen and towels to those in our community who really need them,” said Kelson Riding, assistant director of housekeeping. “Hilton’s Travel with Purpose goal is to double our investment and support of local programs that provide support to those in need. We are happy to partner with Valley Behavioral Health as a way to strengthen our community.”
Valley Storefront is a non-traditional outpatient facility providing services to Serious Mental Illness (SMI) homeless individuals who may also be experiencing substance use disorder. Storefront acts as an entry point into treatment for those who are hesitant to try traditional behavioral health options.
