Sandy City unveils new public works building

Sandy City will unveil its new Public Works building on July 19th 9:30-10:30 am.

The previous Public Works building was destroyed in a fire in 2017 which also destroyed half the city’s snow plows and other large equipment. The fire took more than five hours and 100 firefighters from eight jurisdictions to contain.

The new building was designed by JRCA and built by Ascent Construction. It features many energy efficiencies such as LED lighting, a variable refrigerant flow HVAC system, four EV charging stations and installation points for future solar power. See attached for pictures. The media and public are invited to attend a ribbon cutting and comments by Mayor Kurt Bradburn and Public Works Director Mike Gladbach at 9:30 am. The Sandy City Public Works building is located at 8775 South 700 West in Sandy.
