The annual Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) Symposium will be held on Oct. 16, 2019. The event provides opportunities for Utah businesses to network with purchasing agents, vendors and small business liaison officers from federal, state and local agencies and the private sector.

At the Symposium, attendees learn first-hand how entrepreneurs and small businesses can position their company, product or service to secure government contracting opportunities.

The Symposium, sponsored by the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development, will be held at the Salt Lake Community College in Sandy, Utah (Miller Campus). Registration is open until 11:30 a.m. and costs $60. Check-in on Oct. 16 begins at 7:30 a.m., and the Symposium starts at 8 a.m.

The theme of the 2019 PTAC Symposium is “Gaining the Edge in a Changing Landscape.”

This year’s featured speakers are Utah Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox and award-winning business coach and bestselling author Joshua Frank. Frank is a nationally recognized authority on government sales and business acceleration and is a sought after speaker on business strategy.

“Winning government contracts is about perceived value and communicating your value more strongly than your competition,” says Frank, managing partner at RSM Federal. “At the Symposium, you’ll learn differentiation tactics and strategies, how to evaluate your past contracts and how to communicate strength, capability, and maturity.”

In addition to hearing from best-selling author and keynote speaker, Joshua Frank, managing partner of RSM Federal, the Symposium features over 50 exhibitors from the Department of Defense, federal, state, city, county, local school districts, and prime defense contractors.

“The PTAC Symposium has great educational and networking opportunities for both newcomers and seasoned professionals,” says Chuck Spence, director of the Utah Procurement Technical Assistance Center. “At no other time of year is there gathered at one location, Lt. Governor Cox, a nationally renowned federal procurement keynote speaker with informative breakout sessions that educate participants on how to win government contract awards.”
