Ingraham tees off on Romney over impeachment: ‘I have no words’

Fox News host Laura Ingraham ripped Utah Sen. Mitt Romney on Monday evening over his openness to calling witnesses during the Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump.

Romney has said Monday he would vote for calling certain witnesses during the trial, including former Trump national security adviser John Bolton.

“I have no words for Mitt Romney. I supported him in 2012. I like Mitt Romney. I have no words for him. Just none,” said Ingraham in response.

“What’s in the water in Utah?” she added.

Earlier this month Bolton said he would comply with a Senate subpoena to testify during the impeachment trial.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will likely end her game of keep-away with the articles of impeachment passed by the House last month by transmitting them to the Senate this week. The impeachment trial will reportedly begin on January 21.

President Trump is urging Senate Republicans to dismiss the impeachment charges against him without a trial, but at least four Republicans, including Romney, are expected to vote with Democrats to call witnesses during the proceedings.
