Derek Miller, president and CEO of the Salt Lake Chamber, issued the following statement on the appointment of Dave Woolstenhulme as the new Commissioner of Higher Education for the Utah Board of Higher Education:
“On behalf of the Salt Lake Chamber, I offer our most hearty congratulations to Commissioner Woolstenhulme on his appointment to serve as Utah’s Commissioner of Higher Education. Dave is particularly qualified for the role during a time when the decisions that are made will have a lasting impact on the welfare of our students and the economic vitality of our state.
“Utah’s higher education system is in good hands under Dave’s leadership. His previous experience at both Utah State University and the Utah Technical Colleges have given him a solid foundation to lead, and to that end he will have strong support from a statewide network of business and government leaders who have come to appreciate his skills and contributions.
