Rep. Owens named ranking member on House Early Childhood, Elementary and Secondary Ed. Subcommittee

 

U.S. Rep. Burgess Owens (UT-04) issued the following statement after being selected as Ranking Member of the House Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education Subcommittee for the 117th Congress:

“As the son of an educator and a grandfather to 16 school-aged children, I’m thrilled for the opportunity to lead the Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education Subcommittee for the 117th Congress.”

 “From evidence-based policy that improves early learning to keeping K-12 programs strong, I will work hard to empower states and local school boards to ensure our children get the quality education they need to power our country’s future.”

 

Republican Leader of the Committee on Education and Labor, Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), said:

“As the son of an educator, Representative Owens is a proven and effective leader with a deep understanding of the importance of early childhood, elementary, and secondary education in a child’s development.
