Salt Lake Comic Con Bursting at the Seams with Attendees (Video)

Downtown Salt Lake City was packed with cosplayers and other pop culture fans for the second-annual Salt Lake Comic Con. Co-founder Bryan Brandenburg says this year's event exceeded all expectations.

Brandenburg says after bringing in 100,000 people over 3 days in April for their "Fan X" event, they brought in more than 120,000 attendees and completely sold out of tickets for the fete.

"Ticket sales are double what they were for Fan X," says Brandenburg. "Fortunately we have twice the amount of space this year. We've done our best to produce a world class event with guests and artists. They say if you build it they will come. We built it and they came."

Brandenburg says the show will turn a profit again, allowing them to move forward and plan for another show next year. Those lofty ticket numbers are despite organizers giving away 15,000 tickets to students, military members and other community organizations.
