Popular investor, entrepreneur and technology expert Howard Lindzon will address Utah businesses at the 2015 Utah Technology Council Annual Members’ Meeting at Little America in downtown Salt Lake City at noon on April 22.
The Annual Members’ Meeting runs from 11:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m., with networking and company exhibits beginning at 11:00 a.m. The lunch meeting and awards ceremony start at noon. As one of the Internet’s most popular social media personas with a Twitter following of 275,000, Lindzon has more than 20 years’ experience in the business and financial community as both an entrepreneur and a successful investor. He is co-founder and chairman of StockTwits, which was recently named “one of the top 10 most innovative companies in web” by Fast Company and one of the “50 best websites” by Time magazine (where he invented the concept of the “cashtag”). Lindzon created more than 400 original videos on Wallstrip, which was acquired by CBS in 2007.
As an angel investor, Lindzon has accomplished successful investments in companies such as Rent.com (purchased by eBay in 2005 for $415 million), Golfnow.com (purchased by Comcast in June 2008), Buddy Media (acquired by SalesForce in 2012 for $745 million), and Lifelock (2012 IPO) and Twitter (2014 IPO).

Peer awards will be given in the following categories: CEO, CFO, CTO, Emerging Executive, HR Executive, Marketing Executive and Sales Executive for UTC participation. Additional awards will include Legislators of the Year, Educators of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.
