Western Energy Alliance Expands Policy Team

Western Energy Alliance announced today that Ryan Streams joined its staff as regulatory affairs analyst with a focus on air and water quality.

Streams is former associate director of the Utah Science, Technology and Research (USTAR) initiative, where he was based at the University of Utah’s Energy & Geoscience Institute. His experience also includes managing outreach for the Swaner Preserve and Eco Center, a land conservation and environmental education organization, and a research fellowship at Colgate University’s Central Adirondack Laboratory for Environmental Studies.

“Oil and natural gas companies constantly innovate to further protect air and water quality,” said Tim Wigley, president of Western Energy Alliance.  “Ryan will be working with our member companies and regulators to ensure that record of environmental stewardship continues. His strong environmental studies background and proven record of coordinating with academia, industry and conservation groups will be valuable assets to the Alliance as we further demonstrate how oil and natural gas companies operate responsibly to protect vital resources while producing affordable energy.”

“With a strong background in environmental policy, science and energy technology, Ryan understands the balance between energy development and environmental protection. He also has direct experience with the science teams working on the Uinta Basin Winter Ozone Study, which is on-the-ground knowledge that will be a valuable asset in supporting our advocacy,” concluded Wigley.
